Tips on getting out of the house.

Getting out of the house is so important, cabin fever doesn't just hit parents but it knocks children about too. A lot of mums with children who are close in age are often worried about heading out. I was so scared when I took the boys out by myself for the first time but here is what I learned. ALWAYS if bottle feeding bring one more than what you think you'll need. I try to keep the nappy bag stocked with things like nappies, wipes, bags and changes of clothes that way all I have to add is comforters, bottles and some snacks. These are the things you can pack the night before a planned outing or if unplanned they are easy to just pop in the bag. My husband and I bought a plain back pack from Kmart to use as our nappy bag. The back pack has several advantages, including being able to comfortably hold a baby and the bag, anyone can hold it as there is no gender affiliations and it is much better for your shoulders and back when worn correctly. For your first outing and this goes for new mums too, keep it simple. That means you just might go for a walk around the block or travel to your local park. Work up to the big places. While you are out it's okay to accept help, in saying this I live in a rural type area where the community is beautiful, so if you aren't being offered help and your really struggling with something ask for help, most people are kind and will give you a hand. In the end it's just about getting out, and feeling comfortable.
