I have not always been accustom to change, in fact it used to frighten me. I then experienced my first bout of anxiety and knew that change would eventually have to become apart of my life. I remember my mum once saying to me "change is as good as a holiday sometimes" and with that I adopted my own theory that if you're not happy within yourself, your life or your environment...change. Over the past month, I have begun to fall back into difficult patterns of behaviour and beginning to become unhappy with a few small factors of my life. I realised that for my own benefit and that of my husband and children, I would need to change those aspects of my life I no longer agree with. I had to start with my, mental, physical and spiritual health and wellbeing. Doing things such as changing up my diet, beginning to do small amounts of exercise and most importantly taking some time out of the day just for me. This last one is so important for us mums and dads, when your life becomes so filled with the responsibilities of the very dependant little humans that rule our lives, we seem to forget that the big humans need a break too. Changes in life don't have to be huge to make a difference, it can simply be going to bed half an hour earlier and reading, or getting up fifteen minutes earlier to enjoy your morning coffee on your own. Figuring out what needs to change is the first step and remember it take 21 days to create a habit!
